Originally the Cutlery and Allied Trades Research Association (see Authenticity page), founded in Sheffield, England in 1952 to carry out research and development for the local cutlery industry for which Sheffield is world famous. Specialising in co-operative investigations into materials, stainless steels, manufacturing methods, machinery, automation, robotics, product and performance testing, the association has amassed a wealth of specialised technical knowledge. A team of 18 qualified and experienced engineers and scientists who work in fully equipped purpose built laboratories, can provide you with a technical solution to your problems.
